Sherman Sellman passed away suddenly at his home November 12, 1997 at the age of 71.

Sherman was born March 5,1926 in Kost, Minn, the son of Arvid and Mabel Sellman. He grew up in the Almelund area and graduated from North Branch High School. He married Evelyn Resch February 1, 1947. They moved to Shafer in 1948. He owned and operated the Shafer Feed Mill with his brother Glen for 37 years. After selling the feed mill in 1984, he worked as a carpenter until he retired.

He was a long time member of the Shafer Fire Dept. He served 35 years on the Shafer City Council and as a mayor. He also served in many other community activities.

His cheerful and friendly nature will be sadly missed by his wife, Evelyn: Kathleen Raiter, Christine (Perry) Milek and Jonthan Sellman; grandchildren: Michael Raiter, Michelle and Anthony Milek, brothers Roger (Irene) and Glen (Norma) Sellman and sister Marilyn (Bernard) Guiland and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 15, 1997 at Chisago Lake L utheran Church. Interment at Hillside Cemetery, Center City.
