Herbert A. Hilmer, 92, of Barnhart died Feb. 12, 2010, in Festus. mr. Hilmer was a retired supervisor with PPG Industries and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Arnold. He was a World War II verteran of the U.S. Army. Born Feb. 12, 1918, in Junction City, Kansas, he was the son of the late George H. and Mary (Vanselow) Hilmer.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Aurella (Telle) Hilmer; one daughter, Linda (Loren) Hemme; one son, Bert (Suzanne) Hilmer; six grandchildren: Aaron (Christine) Hilmer, Adam Hilman, Kathleen (Neal) Kendall, Nathan (Katy) Hemme, Seth (Patty) Hemme and Joel (Erin) Hemme; and three great-grandchildren: Maria Hemme, Ethan Hemme and Hannah Hemme.

Funeral services were to be held Feb. 16 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial was in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Concordia Seminary or to the St. John's Lutheran Church Building Fund. Arrangements were under the direction of Kutis Funeral Homes in St. Louis County.
