Andrew W. Kirbach, 65, of East South Main St., Carrollton, died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 1982, at St. John Hospital, Springfield.

Andrew Kirbach was born in Greenfield April 1, 1917; he was a son of Mrs. Mary Abeln Kirbach of Carrollton and the late Henry C. Kirbach. He married Cecilia Steinacher on June 20, 1945.

Mr. Kirbach was a member of the St. John Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, Carrollton Legion Post 114, VFW at White Hall, and had served as a military policeman in the Army.

He was a Postal Service letter carrier until retirement in 1981, and a former member of Carrollton City Council and Carrollton Fire Department.

In addition to his mother and wife, survivors are two sons, James Kirbach of Virden and Michael Kirbach, at home; eight daughters, Sister Mary Marlene, O.P., of Hardin, Mrs. Barry (Margaret) Brannan of Eldred, Mrs. Michael (Mary) Niemeyer of Kane, Mrs. James (Nancy) Zipprich of Jerseyville, Miss Judy Kirbach of Chatham, Mrs. Roger (Joan) Payne and Mrs. Kris (Theresa) Rosentreter, both of Carrollton, and Ruth Kirbach, at home; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Gerald (Magdalene) Pennington of Carrollton, and three brothers, Edmund Kirbach of Jerseyville, Leonard Kirbach of Carrollton, and Henry Lawrence Kirbach of Bloomington.

Interment was in St. John Cemetery.
