He received his schooling Keya Paha County, West Point, Nebraska and Lincoln, Nebraska. He was married October 1915 to Miss Verna Woolf of Manchester, Iowa. To this union three girls were born, Margory (Mrs. G.E. Bammerlin) of Millboro, South Dakota, Phyllis (Mrs. Charles Sisk), Worland, Wyoming, and Bernice (Mrs. Paul Eichenberger) of Springview, Nebraska. He has also left eight grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Valentine serving as an elder from February 1954 until his passing. He was a member of the Masonic Order and an officer in the Federal Land Bank for twenty years and until his death.
