Ida Key was born in Fells Point, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (nee Jankowski) Stachowiak. She was the sister of Catherine, Carl, Melvin, Elinora, Leo, Howard, Adelia and Regina.
In the 1910 Census, her parents and their children lived at 1600 Aliceanne St.
In the 1930 census, her family resided at 407 South Wolfe Street.
