He was the Bomb Aimer of an Avro Lancaster Bomber NF908 PO-C, 467 Squadron. It flew into high ground, The Roaches, near Leek in Staffordshire during a fighter affiliation exercise and was killed, aged 22 yrs, along with 6 crew members. He is commemorated on the Australian War Memorial.
