He enlisted in the Army on February 12, 1943 in Buffalo, New York. He was noted as being employed in construction and also as Single, without dependents.
Francis was declared "Missing In Action" in the Hurtgen Forest, Germany during the war and was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
His remains were found in 1976 and were returned back to the United States.
He is now interred in the Elmlawn Cemetery, Kenmore, New York. For that record:
