Charles and Viola Martin, of Salt Lake City,
was a top turret gunner aboard U.S. Army Air
Corps B-17G Flying Fortress #44-8371.

Shot down over Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

He enlisted into the service December 1, 1943,
and was sent to England in October, 1944.

Served with the 815th Bomb Squadron, 401st
Bomb Group.
