Killed Overseas
Mr. and Mrs. Roland Jansen received notice on Sunday morning that their son, Gunner Kenneth Jansen, R. C. A., previously reported as wounded, in Sicily, on July 22, 1943, had died of his injuries on August 1.
Kenneth enlisted in September, 1942, going overseas in the spring of 1943. He attended both public and high school in Ridgeway, where he was a popular pupil. Prior to his enlistment he was employed at Fleet Aircraft, Limited.
His father, a veteran of the Great War, is postmaster in Ridgeway.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother , Pte. Carlton Jansen, Canadian Postal Corps, overseas, and a brother Wilfred at home.
Much sympathy is extended to the bereaved family by their many Ridgeway friends.
