John Mathin Bowie of Weyburn, Saskatchewan was KIA at Hangard Wood, Somme, France. John was working as a checker when he enlisted at Weyburn early in 1915. He was the brother of Allan Conway Bowie. They were the sons of John L. and Martha Bowie who came from Greenock, Inverclyde, Scotland. The boys enlisted just two weeks apart.
