Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sitte of Winter celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary with many friends and relatives and relatives at the Winter Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Sept. 3.
The honored couple was married at Hendricks, MN, on Sept. 22, 1916. They lived in Waubun and Ogema, MN, before moving to the Winter area in 1919.
The Sittes have three children who were all able to attend. They are Getrude Herzig of Oshkosh, Robert of Winter, and Goldie Howard of Eau Claire. They also have 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, the latest, a girl, born on Sept. 2, 1966, to Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Herzig, Jr., of Oshkosh.

Albert R. Sitte, age 82 years, a resident of the Winter Community for the past 53 years, died in Eau Claire, WI, Sunday, April 25.
He was born in Liberty Grove, Door County, WI, on Nov. 13, 1888. At the age of 14 years he moved with his parents to South Dakota. On Sept. 22, 1915 he was married to Mabel Selleck at Henricks, MN. Mr. Sitte worked for the railroad company at Ogema and Waubun, MN.
In 1918 the couple came to Winter to make their home where Mr. Sitte farmed for many years.
Survivors are his two daughters, Mrs. Burdell (Goldie) Howard of Eau Claire, WI, and Mrs. Leonard (Gertrude) Herzig, Oshkosh, WI, one son, Robert of Winter; two brothers, Fred of Sister Bay, WI, and Irwin, Bel Aire, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Christiansen, Hendricks, MN, Mrs. Laura Brodd of Sturgeon Bay, WI, and Mrs. Minnie Peterson, Ellison Bay, WI, also 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian Church in Winter on Wednesday at 2PM with the Rev. Kenneth Honius of Cornell, WI, officiating. Interment in the family lot in the Winter Cemetery. Visitation was at the Anderson Funeral Chapel in Hayward on Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Pallbearers were Stanley Sward, Otto Melchert, Jr., Elmer Vaverka, Floyd Kinsley, Carl Olson, and Godfrey Pearson.
