DALTON -- Elmer S. Geiser, 88, of Dalton, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at his home following a period of declining health.

He was born near Apple Creek on July 10, 1922 to the late John F. and Helen (Gerber) Geiser and married Agnes Amstutz on June 24, 1945. She died July 22, 2002.

He was the retired owner of Geiser Sales & Service, and was a member of Sonnenberg Mennonite Church near Kidron.

Surviving are children, Karen (William) Mishler of Bloomfield, N.J., Arlene (Les) Frazier of Houston, Texas, Marceil Geiser of College Station, Texas and Olin (Karen) Geiser of Dalton; grandchildren, Reuben, Elizabeth, Simeon, Jethro and Obadiah Geiser; a sister, Ada Amstutz of Dalton; and a brother, Willis Geiser of Marshallville.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Geiser; and sisters, Irene Brubaker, Edna Nussbaum and Verda Nussbaum.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sonnenberg Mennonite Church, with Pastor Mel Hathaway officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the church, or one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton, is handling arrangements. Online guest registration and condolences may be sent through www.spidellfuneralhome.com.
