Jean Mary McKinnon was born January 23, 1926 to John and Fena (Buseth) McKinnon at Arthur, ND. She graduated from Arthur High School in 1944 and went on to graduate from St. Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. She then worked at St. Lukes Hospital. In 1949, she moved to Garrison, ND to help start the Garrison Clinic. There she met Myron Leon Huettl and they were married on November 21, 1954. Myron and Jean lived in Garrison until 1957, when they moved to Fort Peck, MT. In December 1958, they moved to Minot, ND, and lived there until moving to Fargo in June 1989.
During the last several years, Jean struggled with many health issues. With the love and support of her husband, Myron, she was able to remain at home. Jeans family wishes to thank MeritCare Home Care and Elim Nursing Home for their excellent care and love shown to her. The family is especially grateful for the love that was shown to Jean and her family during the final days of her life by the Elim staff.
Jean was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was an inspiration to those that knew her for her continued courage and strength to face the countless health issues she dealt with during her life.
Jean is survived by her husband, Myron, Fargo, ND; daughter, Jane (Tim) Bittner and granddaughters Annalise and Danielle all of Fargo, ND.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Marie, born September 23, 1960, and passed away one day later, her parents, John and Fena McKinnon, brother, John Dub and sister, Ardis Nyberg.
Visitation: Tuesday from 5 to 7 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.
Memorial Service: Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 7 p.m. in Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.
Burial: Arthur Cemetery, Arthur, ND
