Gloria Day Rosenhan, 70, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2006 after a five-year struggle with colon cancer. She resided at 5625 South Hillside Drive (286 East) in Murray, Utah at the time of her death.

Gloria was born the only daughter of Spencer Day and Frances Vogrinec Day on May 21, 1936 in Mohrland, Utah. The family later moved to the mining town of Hiawatha, Utah, where she grew up.

She graduated from Carbon High School. Gloria attended Carbon College for two years then graduated with honors from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She taught the fourth grade for fourteen years in Murray, Utah. She enjoyed summers away from the classroom traveling and studying in places such as Mexico City and Madrid.

Gloria retired from teaching when she was married and sealed to Bill J. Rosenhan in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 29, 1972, several months after the death of Bill's first wife, Chloe Hatch Rosenhan. Gloria was blessed with an instant family of six wonderful children ranging in age from sixteen years to eight months. The children are Kurt J. Rosenhan (Wendy), Michael N. Rosenhan (Carol Lee), Holly L. Erekson (Chris), Suzanne Quarrella (Stephen), Eric B. Rosenhan, and Bill J. "BJ" Rosenhan Jr. (Rebecca).

Gloria has eight granddaughters, seven grandsons (with one on the way), and one great-granddaughter. All of these children were a source of unmeasured joy and happiness to her and she enjoyed spending one-on-one time with each of them.

Gloria was an avid fan of BYU football and attended all home and many away games with Bill. She also enjoyed touring with BYU Travel Study and other tour groups. She visited many exciting places across the world with Bill. Her favorite trip was a tour that included traveling in Israel, Egypt, Greece, and Turkey.

Gloria has a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served faithfully in many callings at the ward and stake levels including singing in the ward and stake choirs. She served more than ten years as a Friday docent at the Museum of Church History and Art. She loved the calling and the people with whom she served. She was also a teacher in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Gloria spent many hours sewing dresses for children, blankets, and other items, which she donated to LDS Humanitarian Services.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Bill; and their immediate family. She is preceded in death by her parents; and only brother, Blaine.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hillside Ward Chapel, 435 East 5600 South, Murray, Utah. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street (100 East), Murray, Utah, and at the Ward Chapel one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Murray City Cemetery.
