Services for Maxine M. Sweerin, 69, of Conger Street, 1:00 p.m. Friday at Concordia Lutheran Church with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Mrs. Sweerin died Tuesday morning, May 17 at Allen Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born May 27, 1918 in Tama County, daughter of Louis and Lillian Bern Rehder. She married Tom Sweerin on July 6, 1939 in Waterloo.

She graduated from Reinbeck High School and worked 20 years at Allen Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1980. She was past secretary of Cedar Valley Region Antique Car Club of America, and secretary of Jim Beam Bottle Collectors Club.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Martin of Minneapoils, Minnesota, and Larry of Medina, Ohio; one daughter, Linda Van Loh of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and seven grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Luvern of Gladbrook, Carl of Hampton, and Marvin in childhood.

Visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood-Guardian Chapel, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
