She spent much of her youth working on the family farm, playing the violin in the school orchestra and the trombone in the marching band. After her family moved to Idaho Falls, she met Dale E. Carlson, her lifelong, loving husband of 68 years.
They married Aug. 19, 1942, and later were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Except for the interruption caused by World War II they lived their entire married life in Idaho Falls.
She was a great mom, wife, grandmother and homemaker. She also was active in Music Club, Choralaires, the Idaho Falls Symphony and worked at Chesbro's Music. She was active in the LDS church and fulfilled many church callings. She loved traveling and camping out in the mountains.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; and four children, Barry (Nancy) Carlson, Dennis (Karen) Carlson, Laurie (Mike) Bickley and Barbara (Darrell L.) Byerly; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, four brothers and two grandchildren.
