Madeline Clair Shumaker, 97, Meyersdale, died July 2, 2013 at Golden Living Center. Born May 4, 1916 in Buffalo Mills. Daughter of the late John E. and Ella R. (Coughenour) Hillegas. Preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Shumaker, son, Kenneth Howard Shumaker, brother James Hillegas. Sisters: Miriam Knepper, and Elizabeth Schradel. Survived by son, David C. Shumaker, Wellersburg and daughters: Ella Sicheri and Janet Mankamyer, Somerset. Brother Herbert Hillegas, Everett and sister Ella Mae Spence, Meyersdale. Five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Member of the Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church. Friends will be received July 4, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home with Pastor Marc Valentine officiating. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery. Arrangements by the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home.
