Married Emeline Vaugier in France about 1862. Son of Peter Dimanche and Mary Provost. Immigrated from France 1865 arriving in Portland, Maine to find they had lost all their belongings. Family went to Piequick, Ohio from Portland where Alexander got a job working on the railroad tracks. Caught malaria in Ohio so the family left for Lanesboro, Massachusetts where a cousin of Emily's lived. In Lanesboro he secured a job making charcoal. The family fled back to France in the panic of 1876 with their seven children, the youngest was Floyd who was only a couple of months old. Unable to secure work in France that could provide a suitable income to support his family Alexander and his family returned to the United States. Alexander provided for his family by making Charcoal and by working in the local Paper Mill. He owned his own home at 122 Edward Ave. Alexander was the father to 10 children, eight girls and two boys. Alexander died from heart disease/Embolism and was buried in Fairmount Cemetery in Lee, Massachusetts.
