Kay Estelle Williams Diamond, 82, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, May 11, 2009 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor J. Michael Heath officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 10, 2009 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Diamond was born March 27, 1927 in Hamilton, AL daughter of the late William Plumber and Cleora Clements Williams. She was the owner of Diamond Realty Company. She served on the Columbus Board of Realtors from 1968 until October of 2008. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association where she was President and Woman of The Year. She attended Spring Hill College in the 50's and taught school overseas in Japan as well as in Columbus, GA for Wesley Heights Elementary. She was a nurse while living in Alabama and was also a member of Eastwood Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, Mrs. Diamond is preceded in death by her husband, Truman E. Diamond. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra D. Myers (Jack) of Columbus, GA and Nancy D. Rodman of Columbus, GA; granddaughters, Kellie Myers Glabman and Amanda Rodman Smith; and a grandson, Christopher Rodman.
