James Lester Jackson

Age 97 - Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Assembly of God Church of Cement with Rev. Mike Bates, Pastor and Rev. Raymond McPherson, Pastor of the Life Journey Church of Cement, officiating.
Mr. Jackson died Sunday at his home.
Burial will be in the Cement Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Cement Chapel.
He was born November 12, 1912 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Charlie and Roxanna (Renfro) Jackson. Lester and Mary were married on January 16, 1968 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Les has been a welder by trade. This has taken him to all corners of the U.S. Les could always tell you stories of his travels and the people he met. He has been friends with many movie stars. Les was a Sheriff in Cement. He and Mary ran a liquor store and gas station in Cement also. In the year of 2007 he rode in the parade as the Grand Marshall. Mary and Les have owned cattle and farmed land in the Cement area.
Before Les got ill he spent a lot of time at Gas N Go drinking coffee and visiting. He loved to draw machinery that he designed at the kitchen table and told anyone who would listen all about them.
He is survived by his wife of the home; 2 daughters: Shirley Larson of California, Beverly Nightingale and her husband Arden of Anadarko, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren: David Larson, Deanna Hart, Tabitha and Kyle Nightingale, 3 stepdaughters and their husbands: Yvonne Webster and Bill Doby of Cement, Therease Dacus and Galen of Fletcher, Sherry Prather and Frank Milligan of Cement; 13 great grandchildren; 16 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: 8 brothers and 1 half sister: daughter: Altha Robertson; grandson: Donnie Robertson; Granddaughter: Sharon Edwards, Great Grandson: Donnie Robertson IV; Step Great granddaughter: Kadra Berry.
