Bridgeport, Michigan Our beloved Tootsie went home to be with the Lord, Sun., April 30, 2006. Age 67 years. She was a wife, mother, sister, grandma, aunt and friend. The daughter of the late Conrad and Mary (Schimpf) Fass was born April 17, 1939 in Saginaw. She was a childcare provider for many years and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are her husband of forty years, Ken Newton and two daughters, Wendy Newton and Carrie Soffia and her husband Al; four grandchildren, DeAndre Newton, Jordan, Mya Childress and Azelia Soffia; a brother and sister and their spouses, Godfried and Jean Fass; Violet and Jim Sawyer; her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and their spouses, Bob and Jeannie Sawyer; Bud and Annette Newton; Norma and Ed Felski; Jane and Jim Weatherwax; her niece, nephews and their spouses, Tom and Shelly Sawyer; Ken and Pam Sawyer; Rebecca Sawyer;Deborah Sawyer; Kurt and Ann Stebbins; Scott Stebbins; Peter and Jennifer Felski; Pam and Bob Neu; Mark and Dana Newton; David and Michelle Newton; Darren and Tammy Newton; Malinda and Joe Smith; April and Ron Smith; David Fass; Fred Fass; Mark and Krista Hirshman; Rachael Hirshman; Josh, Jacob, Andrea, Brent and Brian Sawyer. She was met by her sister Mary Sawyer and her special cousin Judy Hirshman. The funeral service will take place at 11am Wed., May 3, 2006 at the New Life Church of the Nazarene, 1278 S. Center Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Ronald V. Compton and Rev. Katherine Penney will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 409 Adams St. from 2-4 and 6-9pm Tue. and then at the Church from 10am Wed. until the time of the funeral service.
