Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral Upper Church for Anna C. Kersting, age 99 of St. Cloud who passed away on Monday, October 1, 2007 at the Country Manor Health Care Center in Sartell. Reverend Anthony Oelrich will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. on Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.
Anna was born on March 26, 1908 in Melrose, Minnesota to Bernard and Mary (Imdieke) Thieschafer. She married John H. Kersting on June 10, 1930 in Melrose. Anna lived in St. Cloud all of her married life. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish, St. Anne's Christian Women, St. Margaret's Society, St. Frances and St. Cecilia Mission Groups, Daughters of Isabella, Women's Guild, Eagle Aerie #622 Auxiliary and RSVP.
Anna is survived by her children, Bernard (Marge) Kersting of St. Cloud, Lorraine Paur of Rancho Cordova, California, Marian (Jack) Sakry of Maple Grove, Ann (Wesley) Leedahl of St. Joseph, John (Elnora Dresow) of St. Cloud, Jeanette (Jean) Kappel of Winsted and Thomas (Barbara) of Litchfield; 31 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; brother, Louis of Melrose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John on December 14, 1976; sisters and brothers, Rose Klaphake, Alvina Oevermann, Joseph, Veronica Elfering, Alphonse, and Dorothy Beuning; son-in-law, Jack Glieden and daughters-in-law, Carol Kersting and Judy Kersting.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
