CLARION - John Black Alexander, 80, a retired farmer, died at 9:25 a.m. Sunday in his home at Clarion RD 1.

Mr. Alexander was born February 7, 1886, in Pittsburgh, a son of John and Sarah Black Alexander. He was married January 9, 1920, to the former Mildred Kidd. She is deceased.

Mr. Alexander was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of the Clarion IOOF Lodge.

He is survived by four sons, John (Tom) and William George Alexander, at home; Pressley R. Alexander of Clarion RD 1 and Carl D. Alexander of Brookville RD 4; three daughters, Mary J. Alexander, at home; Mrs. Daryl (Sadie) Schrecengost of Fairmount City RD 1 and Mrs. Donald (Martha) Zeitler of West Mifflin; and 22 grandchildren. A daughter and a sister are deceased.

Removal was made to the Goble Funeral Home in Clarion where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Roy C. Blair, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarion, officiating. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery.

The IOOF Lodge will hold memorial services at 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
