Mr. Daas was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1938. Together he and Irene raised four children. In 1985, the couple moved to the town of Millerville, where he remained until several weeks before his death. Tony enjoyed being with his family, friends, farming, playing cards, fishing and yard work.
Anthony died April 24, 2006 at Bethany community Home in Alexandria. Tony is survived by his wife, Irene; children: Lucille (Bernie) Nadeau, Dick (Mary Ann), Mary Jo Garay (Jerome Dold), Norma (Tim) Lanoue; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, brother Peter; sisters: Marie Faber, Rose Thoennes; sister-in-law, Agnes Byrne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Frank, John, George, Ben and Isidore; sisters: Mathilda DeBilzan, Anna Revering, Pauline Wagner; grandson, Tony Daas; great grandson, Eli Meyer.
Mass of Christian Burial was held April 28, 2006 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Millerville with Fr. Lemm and Fr. Heid officiating. Pallbearers were Mark Nadeau, Chris Nadeau, Rick Daas, Scott Koep, Kari Taplin, Mona Meissner, Therese Meyer, Karen Mauriala, Kelly Koep-Hoyme, Jessica Nadeau. Honorary pallbearers were Stephanie Stracke, Paul Nadeau, Josh and Jenny Lanoue. Burial was at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Cemetery, Millerville. Arrangements were with Petermeier's Alexandria Funeral Care & Cremation Service.
