He was born in Minneapolis on July 1, 1888. He came to Hines in January 1924, where he operated a butcher shop for a couple of years. He also resided in Bemidji and Annandale before coming to Blackduck to make his home. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Johnson at Blackduck on April 17, 1915.
Besides his wife, Myrtle, he is survived by four sons and three daughters, the Rev. Carl Clausen, Mahnomen; Lester of Minneapolis; Walter of Hines; Clifford of Rockford; Mrs. Henry (June) Shuneson, Cokato; Miss Arlys Clausen of Minneapolis; and Mrs. Gordon (Lyda) Greenwaldt of St. Paul. Also surviving are one sister, Anna Theyson of Duluth, and one half-brother, John Olson of San Diego, Calif., and 19 grandchildren.
