He was the son of John and Ida McMaster Davis and the husband of Orizada (Ora) Alice Remley.
They had 3 children Oscar R. Herschel, and Benita Irene Davis.

Allen J Davis Expires Today

Middletown - Allen J Davis, 73, Fall Creek Township farmer died this morning in New Castle after an illness of two years.

Mr. Davis was born in Illinois and moved to near Middletown 36 years ago from Fort County Illinois. He was a member of the Sixth Street Christian Church and the Henry County Farm Bureau.

The body was taken to the Ballard and Shirey Funeral Home, where friends may call after noon Sunday. Funeral services will be Tuesday in the Sixth Street Christian Church at 2:30 pm Dr. F F. Smith of Indianapolis and the Rev. Wayne Kinnon of Middletown will be in charge. The body will be in state at the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.

Surviving are the widow, Orizada, one daughter, Mrs. Raymond Zachary, RR 1 Middletown, one son, Hershel Davis, at home, five grandchildren, two brothers, Charles of Denver, Colo and Earl of Ottumwa, Iowa, three sisters, Mrs. Nelson True of Harwood, Mo, Mrs. William Dally of Walker, Mo and Mrs. D B Baird of Derby, Colo, and several nieces and nephews.
