David Welter, age 74, of Apple Valley, MN, formerly of Perham, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 2, 2008. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008, beginning at 11:00 am at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
David was born July 17, 1933, in Perham, MN, the son of William and Lucille Welter. He attended Perham High School and graduated in 1951. David played guard on the undefeated/unscored upon Perham High School football team of 1950. He then went on to graduate from St. John's University, class of 1955, earning a degree in Business and Economics. David retired from Northwest Airlines after 40 plus years of service. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and world traveler. In his later years he enjoyed gambling and spending time with his family.
David is survived by his sister, Cheryl Deneen of Colorado and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will greatly miss his big hugs and great laugh.
Preceding David in death are his parents; brother, Roger; and sister, Laverne Johnson.
