ST. ANTHONY - Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church for Edward Gerads, 79, who died Tuesday at Albany Area Hospital. The Rev. William Vouk will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Edward Gerads was born Nov. 12, 1913, in Krain Township, Stearns County, to Carl and Anna (Platz) Gerads. He married Rose Althaus Nov. 9, 1937, in Albany. She died March 30, 1973. He married Doreen Tamm May 9,1974, in Albany. She died Oct. 14, 1979.
He farmed in Krain and Albany Townships before his retirement in 1979 when he moved to St. Anthony. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and St. Vincent Mission Group.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jane; and sister and brothers, Veronica Muellner, Robert, Ray and Hubert.
