LEONARD WISEMAN - CHESTERTON - Leonard A. Wiseman, 63, 129 Michigan, died Thursday in his home after a lingering illness.

Born March 23, 1899, in Chesterton, he was the son of John and Elizabeth (Rosenburg) Wiseman. He married Albertina Bellot, who preceded him in death.

A life-long resident of Chesterton, Wiseman was a retired U.S. Steel supervisor. He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic church and a Marine veteran of World War I.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Fisher; three sons, Alphonsus, Donald and Thomas, all of Chesterton; 18 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. John Wiseman, Chesterton; two brothers, Benjamin of Oregon, and Ernest, Chesterton; and six sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Groff, Mrs. Helen Martin, Mrs. Catherine Hoffman and Mrs. Mary Van Loon, all of Chesterton, Mrs. Margaret McIntyre, Lombard, Ill. and Mrs. Eleanor Miller, of Miller.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick's Catholic church with the Rev. Ralph Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the Chesterton cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Carl Edmonds Funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
