A funeral for Sandy Lee Cripps Stearns of Willamina was held today in Green Crest Memorial Park, Sheridan.
Mrs. Stearns died of cancer Oct. 19, 2001, in her home. She was 56.
She was born Sept. 29, 1945, in St. Louis.
She and Dan Stearns were married Jan. 24, 1961, in Corinth, Miss. She was a housewife until 1980, then went to work as a cook in Sheridan for the Council on Aging. She worked in McMinnville Community Hospital for about five years. She also had worked as a legal secretary and was a court clerk for the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde for six years.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dale Stearns and James Stearns, both of Willamina; a daughter, Julie Boekhoff of Sheridan; and six grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home.
