William G. McBride, 51, of 320 South Story Street in Boone, passed away at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and was called home to be with his Lord on Friday evening, September 10, 2010.
He was born on May 15, 1859, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska the son of Merle and Donna (Burbach) McBride.
On September 14, 1981, he married Nancy Miller at Guymon, Oklahoma.
Bill graduated from Gering High School in Gering, Nebraska in 1977. In 1995, the family moved to Iowa. Bill worked in sales during his life.
He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Boone. In high school, Bill loved to sing and perform on stage. He continued his interet in the theater by participating in the Guymon Community Theater. He was an avid Nebraska football fan. Bill loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and brought joy and laughter to many lives.
Suvivors include: a daughter Amber Vale and husband Jason of Boone; a son Shawn McBride of Boone; 4 grandchildren Alaina McBride, Abby, Jackson and Sophie Vale all of Boone; 3 brothers Jeff McBride and wife Cindy of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Ken McBride and wife Lynda and Todd McBride and wife Semalee all of Gering, Nebraska; 1 sister Sandra Kollar and husband Mark of Gering, Nebraska; father Merle McBride of Gering, NE; mother-in-law Wilma Miller of Liberal, KS; numerous nieces and nephews. At the time of Bill's death, his brother, Terry "Mac" McBride also survived him, but passed away unexpectedly on Sunday evening, September 12th, 2010.
Services will be held on Thursday morning, September 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Episcopal Church in Boone with Father Tom Gehisen officiating.
Interment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.
Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present during that time to greet friends. Visitations with a closed casket will continue at the Church on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their gift to the family for a memorial to be determined at a later date.
A memorial service for both Bill and his brother, Mac McBride will be held on Sunday evening, September 19th at 6 p.m. at the Gering Memorial Funeral Home in Gering, Nebraska.
