OBITUARY

Ida Lee BROWN, age 69, a longtime resident of Canadian, died in Amarillo on May 2, 1999.

Graveside services were held at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Bob Miller, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Gem City, officiating. Memorial services were held at the Evangelical Fellowship Church with Brad Johnson of Amarillo officiating.

Burial was in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors.

Mrs. BROWN was born November 5, 1929 in Higgins to Ludwig and Ida Lou Longhofer APPEL, Jr. She attended Valleyview and Bishop School in Higgins. She married Leroy BROWN on September 15, 1952 in Clayton, New Mexico. She moved to Canadian in 1959 from Ponca City, Oklahoma and had lived here for the past 15 years before moving to Amarillo in October 1998. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy BROWN of Canadian and Amarillo; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia “Cindy” and Stuart HUGHES of Amarillo; a son and daughter-in-law, Colby Dale and Stacey BROWN of Perryton; four grandchildren, Kevin Obediah, Jonathan Kirk and Kerry Michael HUGHES, and Haley Nicole BROWN, and a sister, Evelyn BABITSKE of Canadian.
