Mrs. Rose Marie Skalicky, age 102, of Crockett, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010 in the Houston County Nursing Home. She was born May 13, 1908 in Crockett Prairie, Houston County, Texas and had lived in Crockett most of her lifetime. She was a volunteer for the Houston County Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Skalicky was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church in Crockett.
Survivors include children, Joe Skalicky and wife, Nancy of Crockett, Linda Skalicky Moore and husband, David of Crockett, Larry Skalicky and wife, Judy of Crockett ; grandchildren, Jody Skalicky and wife, Lori of Crockett, Laura Skalicky of Cary, North Carolina, Shalane Christiansen of Alvin, Christie Kennedy of Lovelady; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Jace, Elizabeth, Megan, Jake, Dalton, Bryan, Suzanne and Joshua; great-great-grandson, Adrian David Moore; brother, Jerry Cermak and wife, Juanita of Lake Jackson. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by husband, Joe Skalicky; grandson, David Lee Skalicky; parents, Charles and Rose (Pecha) Cermak; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vlasta Porter and N. G., Emilie Trammell and Howard, Eva Lawrence and Arnold, Cecelia Collins and Melvin and brother, George Cermak
Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Marie Skalicky will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve McCeig officiating.
