She was born May 20, 1899 in Herndon, Kansas to John and Elizabeth (Barenberg) Scheve. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and four brothers and five sisters.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joseph's Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella of Angelus.
Survivors include a son Joe, Oakley, and a daughter, Elizabeth Basgall, Grinnell, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Services were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dec. 27, 1986 by Rev. Alvin Werth. Koster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
