Long-Time Resident of Butler County Passed Away Monday.
After illness of a year, with nervous breakdown and injury in a recent fall, Mrs. R. E. Piller, long-time resident of Butler country, passed away at her home in Millerton Monday evening, Jan. 3, at 10 o'clock. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church at Millerton, of which church Mrs. Piller was a member, at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 5. Rev. A. Dommann conducted the services. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery. Mrs. Piller was 66 years of age. She was born Minna Hartwig October 17, 1860, in Weissenfels, Germany, coming to American in girlhood. Her marriage to Reinhold E. Piller took place in Chicago November 11, 1881.
Mr. and Mrs. Piller moved rm Chicago to David City in 1886, and resided here until moving to the present home in Miller-ton in 1898. Surviving Mrs. Piller are Mr. Piller and seven children, four sons and three daughters. The children are Adolf Piller of Garrison, Mrs. Freida Hoeft, Reinhold Piller, Jr., William F. Piller, Mrs. Minnie Gue and Eckehart Piller of Millerton and Mrs. Melanie Plank of Gothenburg. All were in attendance at the funeral. Mrs. Piller also leaves a nephew, Hugo A. Hahn, of David City, and a brother, Adolf Hartwig, living in Germany.
