Walter Frank Oehm, Summerfield, Kansas died Tuesday morning March 30,1993 at Bryan Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, Nebraska. His death was caused by complications following a fall at his home March 16, 1993.

He was born on May 27,1901 at rural Beattie, Kansas, to Gustave and Jemima (McGuire) Oehm. He attended schools at Summerfield.

Walter married Geneva Hughes on July 18, 1930. They farmed south of Summerfield until he retired to town in 1972. He then worked at Meyer Lumber Co for eight years until 1980. Walter served on the Summerfield City Council and enjoyed gardening and Bingo.

He is survived wife Geneva, of the home in Summerfield; a son Kent and his wife; granddaughter, Teresa and husband Jim; and a grandson Jeff and wife Dayna, all of Denver, Colorado and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Gustav and Jemima; sisters Mae Smith, Bertha Brelsford and Lottie Wikoff; and brothers, Carl and Bill Oehm.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 1, 1993, at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Summerfield, Kansas. Father Tom Dolezal conducted the services. Burial was in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Summerfield, Kansas.
