The news of the death of Richard Seydler of Shiner, came as a shock to his many friends in Halletsville, as it was not known that he was even ailing. Mr. Seydler was postmaster and one of the leading men of his city and demise will be sincerely regretted. Only meagre details have been obtained of his death. He had been ill for several days from eongestion but was thought to be recovering when a relapse occurred which snapped the strings of his vitality. He was a brother of Mrs. Ferd Hillie.
