Pilot Officer / Pilot.

Donald's aircraft took off from RAF Waltham (Grimsby) but turned back after the engines started to have problems, and crashed at Thoresby Bridge near North Cotes. bursting into flames on impact.

In addition to Donald, Sgt R..L. Cox, Sgt T. Sleeman, Sgt A Smith and Sgt W..T. Stanley all died in this incident. Only the rear gunner survived the crash.

Son of Maurice Stout (deceased when Donald enlisted) and Mary Ellen McDonald, of Evanston, Illinois. Husband of Anna Ruth McDonald, of Wellston, Ohio.

Note*: Donald's name at birth was Maurice Stout Jr. but he changed it to Donald Patrick McDonald.
