OBITUARY for MARIA DOMINGA (Mary) LARA GALVAN

Funeral services were held for Mary Lara Galvan, 68, of Richmond, Texas, on Aug. 16, 2006 at the Chapel of Hernandez Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Burial followed at San Gabriel Cemetery in Richmond. A rosary was held for Mrs. Galvan at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15 at the funeral home chapel.

Visitation was held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Hernandez Funeral Home.

Mrs. Galvan was born Oct. 22, 1937 in Ganado, Texas, and went to heaven on Aug. 14, 2006 in Houston, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Domingo Galvan; parents, Sylvester Lara and Lucy Rodriguez Lara; son, Jose Galvan; and sister, Rosa Galvan.
She is survived by her sons, Gregory Galvan and Paul Galvan of Richmond; daughters, Dominga G. Martinez of Richmond, Elvira Olvera of Wharton, Texas, Bernice Rosales of El Campo, Esther Gonzales of Decatur, Ala., and Florinda Galvan of El Campo; brothers, Victor Lara, Chris Lara, Sylvester Lara Jr. and David Lara; sisters, Christina Chavez of Phoenix, Ariz., Frances Vaughan, Patricia Dorman, both of Houston, and Rosario Morales and Sylvia Velez of Stafford; 26 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, numerous other loving family members and fiends, and her special friend, her dog, Unique.
