Austin L. "Bub" Young was a son of Earl Smeltzer and Mae Elizabeth Bowers Young and the husband of Betty Stitely Young who survives him.
He had been employed for 33 years with Moore's Business Forms from which he retired from in 1986.
He was a member of Harriett Chapel, Catoctin Furnace, and loved his motorcycle that he rode often in years past.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Sandra Mendenhall, Woodsboro; Cindy More and husband Danny, Mt. Airy; Cathy Higgs and husband Glen, Emmitsburg; six grandchildren, Lori Swiney; Neil Draper; Wendy Nibeck; Stephanie Jensen; Christopher Higgs and Jennifer Bassler and five great-grandchildren, Drew Nibeck; Evan Nibeck; Molly Draper Taylor Bassler and Mike Knott and two great-great-grandchildren, Patrick and Mikayla Swiney, two nephews, Charles Boller, Frederick and Earl Guy Boller, Munnsville, N.Y.; two nieces, Judy Hatfield, Fallston and Nancy Moser, Thurmont and cousin, Richard Bowers, Thurmont and predeceased by one sister, Lorraine Boller.
