Harry Lee Diedrichsen was born February 14, 1940 on the family farm at Wausa, Nebraska. He went to a country school within walking distance through eighth grade and then attended Creighton High School.
After farming for a short time he worked for Gilette Dairy for many years, where he received several awards for his salesmanship.
In 1959 he married Karen Miller. To this union two children were born, son Todd and daugther Teresa. In 1978 he purchased a grocery store in Springview, NE, which he operated until 1984. He worked for Mathis Implement in Valentine, NE, and married Margaret Hespe in 1986. They lived in Valentine until 1988 when they purchased the Ranch House Drive Inn in Gregory, SD. They operated the Ranch House until March of 1997. After that, Harry worked for Country General in Winner until his health began to fail. At that time Harry became very involved with the church. He was a trustee, led music, and was in charge of Brotherhood Fellowship and was leading Bible Study at the time of his death.
Harry enjoyed fishing and his garden until his health wouldn't allow him to continue these activities. He loved to share his garden produce with his friends saying, "I grew it more to give away than for myself." Harry had a faithful companion in his dog Sam.
