Rita M. Roehrborn, 90, of Sheboygan Falls passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 and is reunited with her beloved husband, Edgar.
Rita was born on March 6, 1920, in the Town of Lima, daughter of the late John and Anna (Freihammer) Sanders.
On May 10, 1941, she married Edgar H. Roehrborn, a carpenter and general contractor in the local area, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1993.
Rita was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. She was a member of the Long Lake Haven Association, the Long Lake Fishing Club and the Sheboygan Falls Snowmobile Club. She worked at Richardson Brothers Furniture Factory for several years, the Sheboygan Falls High School cafeteria and the Holiday gas station for six years. Rita had been active in the Falls senior citizens site for many years and did volunteer work for the Share food program, Red Cross Blood Drive, and volunteered at her church for both bingo and preparing funeral dinners. Rita loved camping, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, knitting and crocheting for family and friends.
Rita is survived by three sons, Dennis (Joanne) of Sheboygan Falls, Bruce (Beverly) of Glenbeulah and Rick (Sharon) of Sheboygan Falls; 10 grandchildren, Angela (Jeff) Geydoshek of West Bend, Scott (Julie) Roehrborn of Sheboygan, Bryan (Justina) Roehrborn of Plymouth, Bernie (Cass) Roehrborn of Chilton, Brenda (Jeff) Dorau of Waldo, Becky Roehrborn of Sheboygan, Bethany Roehrborn of Glenbeulah, Neil (Jenny Cyborski) Roehrborn of Appleton, Robin (Brad) Balfanz of Santa Rosa, FL and Grant (Amanda) Roehrborn of Sheboygan Falls; 18 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two godchildren, Monica Gorton of Brooklyn Park, MN and Ethan Roehrborn of Sheboygan; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edgar; an infant son, Ronald John; three sisters, Natalia Athorp, O'Linda and Oliva Sanders; a brother Gerald Sanders and a great-grandson, Joshua Roehrborn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls.
