LORENZ, Leo – Of Flint, age 85, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Brian's House of Davison. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, October 18, 2010 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Steve Anderson officiating. Visitation 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Lorenz will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday, followed by a Memorial service conducted by the K of C Council #695 at the funeral home. Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Brian's House of Davison, where they provided compassionate loving care.

Leo was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin on March 3, 1925 and was a resident of Flint most of his life. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married LaVern A. Veraghen on June 22, 1946 in Flint. Mr. Lorenz was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, K of C Council #695 and PGK of Council #695. He was a life member of the D.A.V. He was a past member of the Catholic Social Services Board of Directors, serving as President for 2 years. Mr. Lorenz was a Supervisor in Quality Control at Buick Motor Division, retiring in October, 1980. Surviving are children, Mark C. and wife Bonnie Lorenz of Cheboygan, Michael J. and wife Linda Lorenz of Grand Blanc, Gregory Lorenz of Bellaire, Michigan;

six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Hornes of Mt. Morris and brother, Edwin Lorenz of Grand Blanc. He was preceded in death by father and mother, Phillip and Marie Lorenz; brothers, Phillip, Dave, Henry and John; sisters, Marie Demler, Louise Phillips and Lydia Lichtenwald.
