Following High School, he enjoyed working as a mechanic. Currently he was employed with Vinyl Exterior. His favorite hobbies included snowmobiling, off-road racing and fishing. Chad was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillett.
Survivors include his mother, Rita Barke, Gillett, and her special friend, Duane Berg; his sister, Aimee Barke, Oconto Falls, and her daughter, Taylor, also Aimee's special friend, Todd Konitzer; his brother, Matt Barke, Oconto Falls; maternal grandfather, Vernon VanLanen, Oneida; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Chad was preceded in death by his father, Thomas, on May 8, 1995.
Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillett from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lisa A. Ubbelohde officiating. Burial in Hickory Cemetery.
