John F. Brinkman was born on May 17, 1877, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and passed away March 9, 1955, at St. Catherine's Hospital in McCook, Nebraska, at the age of 77 years, 9 months, and 22 days.

In 1879 he came with his parents, Frank and Theresia Brinkman, to a farm in Gosper County where he lived until his deeath. He was united in marriage to Carrie Arthaud September 22, 1903, and to this union three daughters and a son were born.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie, and four children, Francis Brinkman and Mrs. Leo Jones, Holbrook; Mrs. John O'Brien and Mrs. Joseph O'Brien, Cambridge; a sister and brother, Mrs. Mame Stark and Charley Brinkman, Holbrook; ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Two sisters, Johanna and Detta, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 11, at 9:00am at St. John's Church in Cambridge with Father Banach officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers were C. F. Meyerle, Bill Reese, Henry Brandt, Joe Brandt, John Hougnon and W. E. Jones.
