Served in Confederate Army, Private. Fought in Civil War, Company D, 20th Battalion, GA Cavalry, and Company I, 47th Regiment, GA Infantry. Was not found on any GA muster rolls after October 1863. However, re-enlisted September 12, 1864, West Farms, NY under the name George W. Anderson, found in “Annual Report of the Adjutant-General of the State of New York for the Year 1901” p. 6. Was a Mason, and Master of Dirigo Lodge #30, NYC, 1883. Was a successful inventor with several patents, including a patent for the first marine safety/spring hook. Worked as a watchmaker and jeweler at Clock’s Shop, family jewelry store.
