ALLEN L. "AL" WILLNER was born December 30, 1931 in Jacksonville, Illinois, the son of the late Richard Willner and Lilly (Williams) Willner. He was raised and received his education in the Hillsboro community, having graduated from the Hillsboro High School Class of 1949.
He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served one enlistment in the United States Air Force, until he received his discharge.
He was united in marriage to Louise Ray on April 15, 1951 in Hillsboro, Oregon. Following their marriage they moved to the Forest Grove community, where he had resided since.
Al was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, on November 11, 2008 at Portland, Oregon, after celebrating over fifty-seven years of marriage together.
Al had worked in the electronics industry for 27 years as a technician at Tektronics Inc., in Beaverton. He retired in 1980. In his later years, he owned and operated Al's Pressure Washing business for 25 years, having served several industries including restaurants, industrial, commercial vehicles, log trucks and residential homes.
Al had served as a board member for the Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove, Oregon for over 30 years.
Among his special interests he enjoyed his family, designing, building and fixing anything, and remodeling homes with his son and daughter-in-law.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and step-dad, Bud Williams; and his son, Ron Willner in 1980.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and DeDe Willner, of Forest Grove, Oregon; his brother and sisters-in-laws, Richard (Sonny) and Joan Willner of Bonney Lake, Washington and Bill (Percy) and Elaine Willner of Hillsboro, Oregon
Also surviving are his four grandchildren, Angela Willner, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Michael Willner and his wife, Kayla, of Amity, Oregon; Cody Willner, of Corvallis, Oregon and Salena (Squeak) Willner and fiancé, Sean Griffith of Forest Grove, Oregon; his four great-grandchildren, Jamie Willner, Logan Willner, Dominick Willner and Morgan Willner and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the a American Cancer Society, 0330 S.W. Curry Street, Portland, Oregon 97201 or to the Providence Cancer Center, 4805 N.E. Glisan Street, Portland, Oregon 97213, in his memory.
