Mrs. Lydia Doehring, 79, died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17 in Shelby County Memorial Hospital, Shelbyville. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Strasburg, with Rev. Kenneth Wegener officiating. Lovins Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Donna Johnson was organist with the congregation singing "I'm But a Stranger Here", and "My Hope is Built on Nothing Less". Pallbearers were grandsons: James Doehring, Don Doehring, Robert Bennett, Dale Vogel, Don Hoffmeister and James Bell. Mrs. Doehring was born Feb. 18, 1890, near Strasburg, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Salzman Noffke. She married H. W. "Mack" Doehring Jan. 19, 1908 in Strasburg. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Clarence of Windsor and Clyde of Sullivan; one daughter, Mrs. C. B. [Buelah] Ostermeier of Kingsman, Ariz; three brothers, Otto Noffke of Windsor and Herman and Martin Noffke, both of Strasburg; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
