OBITUARY:
Alice Irene Rogge, daughter of Julius and August (Hogrefe) Stutheit, was born Feb. 17, 1925 in Nemaha County. She died March 29,2003 at the Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler, at the age of 78 years, one month and nine days.
Alice was baptized at the Stutheit church southwest of Auburn and confirmed on June 25, 1939. She completed the 8th grade at a country school near Auburn, NE.
Sept. 9, 1947 Alice married Henry Emil Rogge at the Stutheit Church This union was blessed with 2 daughters.
After their marriage, Alice and Henry moved to a farm near Ruskin, NE. for a few years before moving into Ruskin.
She was a member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church of Ruskin and the Bible Study Group. Alice had done housekeeping work for Bethany Lutheran Church. She enjoyed working in her garden as well as helping others in the Ruskin area. She had been a past extension club member, enjoyed playing cards and cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Paul and her grandson Matthew. Survivors include her husband Henry of Ruskin, daughters Irene Rogge of Davenport and Maria Ficken of Joes, CO. six grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Herbert Stutheit of Lincoln and sister, Pearl Steffens of Auburn, other relatives and a host of friends.
