Henry Thomas Asmussen, aged 80, and for half a century a resident of the Douglass community, died Sunday afternoon, December 2, 1951, at
the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leo Bowers, in Douglass. He had been sick only a short time.
Mr. Asmussen lived for years on a farm about four miles southwest of Douglass.
He was born in Maries County, Missouri, November 7, 1871. At his death he was 25 days more than 80 years old.
He came to Kansas 50 years ago.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leo Bowers and Mrs. Joe Rosenberry, both of Douglass; two brothers, Sam Asmussen of Douglass, and Jeff Asmusssen
of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Anna Dickinson, Caney; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were to be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from the Douglass Christian Church, conducted by Rev. Robert Gartman. Burial in Douglass Cemetery in charge of Hilyard Funeral Home.
Music by Mrs. Eva Guyot, Mrs. Anna Bare and J. G. Hilyard, Mrs. Mildred Guyot, accompanist.
Pall bearers; A. W. Scott, J.M. Guyot, Delbert Wade, W. R. Cronk, Frank Cooley and Corbett McCurry.
